From 3rd September to 3rd December, The Lighterman is hosting its first solo exhibition – “The Hollow Man” – in collaboration with the award-winning contemporary artist Felipe Chavez. The exhibition will feature a range of 17 paintings that will be displayed across all three floors of the restaurant. All works will be framed and available for sale.
Felipe Chavez is a self-taught contemporary artist born in Colombia and now working in London. He was awarded the Winsor & Newton Product Prize at this year’s Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours and Wildlife Artist of the Year (urban category) in 2018.
“The Hollow Man” showcases Felipe’s recent artistic exploration of Indian ink on paper, combined with his instinctive figurative interest in the human form and how gender and identity may, or may not, be connected to the human experience. He has created a sea of organic, almost anthropomorphic shapes that pay homage to the tangible aspects of the masculine entity. View the full catalogue here.
